New TOP - Harlowe

I saw the pattern for the Harlowe Top at the end of LAST summer and could not wait to make it. As I'm gearing up to sew for spring and summer, I thought it was the perfect time to try it.....especially when I found this fabric:)

It's back to late nights of sewing at my house as I keep finding new patterns to try! I LOVE sewing! If you even think you "might" want to sew...GIVE IT A TRY!!! I bet you'll love it!

Let's call her Stella:) Basically I just need a name so that when someone emails me I can easily figure out what top they are referring to.

I can't take credit for the idea for this top. A great customer of mine asked me if I could make a similar top she had for her daughter....so I went in search of a pattern...and after a couple of adjustments here is the final product.

I made my first Stella top and shorts for EmK. I tried to get her to model the outfit, but apparently it's traumatic to try on new clothes (or it is for my daughter). I hated to post a picture of her in tears so for now I'll continue to just take pictures without my cute model:)

LOVE!!!

Over the weekend I finished these shirts for a customer in Nebraska. Didn't she send me the CUTEST shirts to applique?!?! I LOVE:) how they turned out.

I LOVE this fabric! It's a favorite I have for this spring. I have several coordinating fabrics and plan to make a cute top when I get a little free time.

You can now add pockets to pants or shorts for $2.00. I should have done this a long time ago....I think the pockets are SO cute. You can either do coordinating fabrics (as shown) or the same print. The possibilities are endless!

Here are a few things I made this week. This week was a little crazy for us! EmK turned 2 this week (wow it's gone by fast)....Jordan and I have the flu and hoping EmK doesn't get it...AND I start teaching tomorrow at Jeff State (I'm teaching Math and Algebra if you are curious).

It's Already Been a Year

I can't believe a new year is here....2011! For some reason I thought I launched my blog in January 2010 and planned to try to write this on the one year mark, but I'm too late as I started this blog on December 19th.

THANK YOU....

- God for allowing to find my "gift" and using it to help inspire other people or help others along the way. I have learned SO much this last year and I'm excited to see all that you have in store for me. I never thought this hobby would be so big....BUT I know you are in the business of doing more than we could ever dream or imagine.

- To my husband, for never complaining about hearing my machine in the late night hours and for always making such a BIG deal about everything I make even when it's something you've seen many times;).....you are always so encouraging and I love you very much!

- Mom, I THANK you for encouraging me to sew....you had the idea for this business even before I did:) Thank you for buying me my VERY own sewing machine...AND thanks for splurging the extra $100 for those quick buttons I thought I could pass on....b/c I really do LOVE them.

- To my mother-in-law for giving me a sewing/embroidery machine so that I can monogram and applique the clothes I make. AMAZING! You are such a talented seamstress....thanks for teaching me so many techniques.

- To my sister and close friends that receive texts/emails/calls from me when I have a new idea or just need a second opinion...I THANK you!! I treasure each of you.

- To those of you who have allowed me to sew for you...or who read my blog...or who pass my name on to someone you think would like to see my work, I THANK you!!!! This hobby truly makes me SEW HAPPY!
