Fun Weekend!

We've had a fun weekend.  Memee (my mom) was here for 4 days!  Emily Kathryn LOVES "Fancy Nancy" so my brought her a Fancy Nancy nightgown and slippers.  It was so funny watching EmK try to keep the slippers on:)

I love when my mom visits...she's always so willing to help me do things I don't like to do alone...like cleaning out closets:)  We also made time to go shopping:) and get some cute spring clothes!  I feel like our long weekend visits go by WAY too fast!  While I hate that I don't live in the same town with my parents and siblings, I'm thankful they are only 4 hours away.  We love every single "happy" Memee!

Here's EmK in her new nightgown:)  I love the second picture...she was very serious in her attempts to keep these slippers on!

Back to sewing...here are a few boy items.....ENJOY!

I have a customer who still loves my sewing machine appliques:)  Here are a few I did for her son.

(Paper with Purpose has these lunch bags)

My brother and sister-in-law have twin boys who are 6 months old, so while my mom was here I made them shirts to go with their bathing suits...and personalized towels:)

Boy Appliques

These are for a little boy who was born the day before Emily Kathryn! His mom always asks for my sewing machine appliques. I LOVE the fabric (especially the owls).

I LOVE the look of a hand applique...and I'm glad my friend does too:) Her little boy is going to be SO cute in these!

Applique Bibs

Someone brought me these bibs to applique. I think they turned out SO cute!

Oversized BIBS

EmK got an oversized bib from her Aunt Janna on her first birthday. I use it ALL the time. It's always in her diaper bag unless it's in the washer. I've been making lots of baby gifts this week and it inspired me to try these for EmK. It takes quite a bit of fabric....I guess I didn't realize until I started cutting...but I think they turned out great. I'm not sure that they seem that big from the picture...but they are HUGE:)

A few observations...you can't even imagine how much terry cloth frays when you cut it...maybe next time I should wash before I cut. Second, it probably wasn't the best idea to use a light gray pique fabric as it will likely be stained quickly...but it's just SO cute! Lastly, you shouldn't try putting on snaps when you are in need of sleep because once you put them on (backwards) you can't get them off:)

Bibs and Burp Cloths

I made these for someone to give as gifts. Each set is $20.00 and you can choose 2 of the 3: burp cloth, bib, or onesie.

Boy Applique T-shirts

I just finished these shirts and wanted to post a picture. I think they turned out SO cute. I think my favorite is the alligator...or maybe the car. The mom gave me the fabric and told me to do whatever...hope she likes them:)

Old and New Favorite

I've always loved this plaid for little boys -- it comes in a stripe too:)

....but I have to say that as soon as I started sewing this orange seersucker I fell in love. This is definitely a favorite now!!! It's even cuter in person:)

Such great ideas if I have a little boy one day!

A Hip Hoppy Easter

I meant to post this a long time ago, but forgot. I'm sure most of you have your Easter attire, but if you have a sewing machine and some scrap fabric you could easily dress up a shirt for Easter. Email me if you want directions:)
